How to stop being afraid of achieving your goals?

When I say to not be afraid of achieving your goals is to not run away from them. It can be pretty easy to say that you will find an easier way to get there or that there will be more opportunities. This generally happens when we get a chance to take a step forward towards achieving our goals but we feel like we are not ready to accomplish them.

For example, I am really into sustainability and a spot opened up as a sustainability representative. I pondered for a few days because I was thinking to myself that I’m going to lose my free time and that I don’t know if I will have time. At the end of the day that position would be the best to practice and get a better job further on. After thinking, I realized that it was my fears and my limiting beliefs holding me back. So I decided to actually do it.

I would encourage you to apply to the jobs that will help you even if you are scared of them. I once heard that the universe will always guide you. So that is my way of looking at things.

To go with the flow

Allow the universe to do its thing and stop worrying about things that are out of your control. In regards to my goals that is what I started doing and opportunities just started coming towards me. When something goes wrong you are allowed to feel sad and even angry. But think about what this experience has brought to you? What did it lead you to?

The other day I received a job offer with work agency and they called me in to work at a store and when I got there, after the hour I spent on transportation they told me that there had been a mistake. And that the agency misunderstood and I actually did not have to go. I could’ve gotten furious with both the manager and the work agency that hired me but I decided to not do that.

After all I got to explore this new side of the city. I met really nice people and I got some great advice from the girls that were working there. I was about to leave unpaid and one girl stopped me and said, “Be firm, tell them that they need to pay you for your time, your time is valuable.” It was the first time that I met here and she was at least 10 years older than me. So I saw what she said as the lesson that I had to learn that day. To be firm with my time.

So next time that something inconvenient happens to you, look for what it has to teach you. I assure you that it will lead you to your goal.

Aligning with your vision to reach your goals

As I mentioned before we might be presented with a lot of different opportunities. From those you need to choose the one that aligns with your vision the most. Which one will take you where you want to be not only sooner but with more experience. Don’t be afraid, there are no wrong choices.

I like to think of the common saying, “All roads lead to Rome.” Cause as I said with every different decision you make you will learn new things that will help you get where you desire. Remember it is also about the process and living in the present. Not only thinking of the end result. To fully align with your goals it is important to shed many limiting beliefs and blocks we may have. To this we have to go inside ourselves and reflect on our emotions related to working and with money. This way we may align with our work goals.

Some final thoughts

Two podcast thats have taught me a lot about money and achieving your goals (financial ones mostly) are:

Make shift happen by Samantha Daily and

Mindset, Magic and Manifestation with Mikayla Jai

They both talk a lot about releasing blocks to reach your financial goals and about manifesting.

I would like to leave you with a quote of the book that I’m currently reading, The Alchemist by Paulo Cohelo:

“People are afraid to pursue their most important dreams, because they feel that they don’t deserve them, or that they’ll be unable to achieve them.”
