Paralysis I think is the best word to describe what being stuck in your healing journey feels like. It is this itchy spot that you can’t scratch. It is overwhelming.
I believe it all has to do with the high and lows of the healing journey. In our journey, we encounter different situations and realizations that become a fluctuation of emotions. We experience good moments in which we finally feel that we have reached the highest point.
Here we can feel like we understand life like we fully know what we are supposed to be doing. We grasp the lessons that we had just been going through and we take them in and accept them, detached from the negative emotions that they may have brought.
That reversed tower moment that often comes up in tarot. When we think that nothing can get worse it does, or when we think that we just solved a situation and something happens that brings us down again.
I relate this feeling to when you are finally getting out of a toxic relationship, you have finally made your decision and you are moving on. Then a bit too early into your healing someone else comes into the picture and you think it is the universe rewarding you. Then it turns out it was not, and it was just your turn to repeat your lesson once again. Lovely isn’t it?
These fluctuations can make us feel like we don’t have a grasp of our life, our mind, and our healing journey. The overwhelm is such that sometimes we even decide that, fluck it, how bad can it be if I just vibe with life and fully ignore my lessons and go wild. That has sounded like a good idea to me a lot of times not going to lie.
It is the “I only live once, let me make this mistake once again and feel like 💩 one more time,” kind of decision.
Of course, this never worked because who wants to feel bad about themselves and their decisions for the rest of their lives? I think no one.
This kind of paralysis is the one in which there is so much in your mind that you don’t know what to move towards. It feels like you think you know where you should go, and your intuition probably does, but there is so much in your mind holding you back.
Getting your thoughts straight is hard.
And let me tell you, this is a problem a lot of people deal with. We are all human and we all have these emotions, especially those of us that tend to overthink. The other “over’s” come easy to us by consequence, overwhelm, overstress, overindulge, overanalyze, etc… Thankfully overcome is also on that list 😉
I can’t tell you that it is easy to be in your healing journey but I can tell you that it should be more easeful. There are ways in which you can make it more easeful.
In order to make the process more easeful we should probably understand better how healing works and how our body works.
Our bodies have certain ways in which they store trauma and certain ways in which they process it. The best way to start getting over this overwhelm is to analyze the way that we are feeling and experiencing our healing one step at a time.
This will help you not only understand your healing journey better but will also give you a sense of where you are standing.
It also includes some interesting prompts at the end to get started 😉
